A long habit of not thinking a thing wrong
gives it the superficial appearance of being right.

pi-numberThe purpose of the website is to keep you current on issues dealing with the glass ceiling.  The term "ceiling" suggests that a person outside the dominant male group is limited to how far they are able to advance inside the organizational ranks.  The ceiling is "glass" because the limitation is not immediately apparent, especially early in an individual's career.  The purpose of my dissertation research is to test the theory, statistically, of the female and male engineers' perspective in the areas of opportunity, power, and inclusion (OPI) within an organization.  I find the topic fascinating.  My main goal is to find ways to attract females to engineering, to retain female engineers, and to advance female engineers.  Several organizations are making themselves accountable and have systems in place to attract, to retain, and to advance females.

PLEASE TAKE APPROXIMATELY 5 MINUTES TO COMPLETE THE ENGINEER IN AN ORGANIZATION SURVEY

Participation in the survey is voluntary.  By participating in the survey, you are consenting to have your data used in the research.  Your participation will help inform the discussion of the under-representation of women in top management positions within an organization.  I do not think the questions pose any risk to you or your institution.  Nevertheless, the responses you give will be kept confidential.  Completed questionaires will be tracked by identification number only.  I hope you will participate in my survey.
